Shop Update! & Bananas for Scale?
Share
Ok! So I’m working on a shop update! I’m also working on uploading photos of new wares, with some on this super awesome engraved reference sheet my husband made me when we first got the laser.
Basically, weary travelers, I am horrible with dimensions…you tell me something is a foot? Cool. About the size of my forearm I guess? 5ft? Ok, a little taller than I am…I’ll hold my arms out and just imagine it. An inch? *pinches fingers together*.
It literally is a running joke in our household that I order “doll furniture” or something all the time. Abram, the golly garage giant who works along side me behind the scenes, or in my personal life…my husband, made me this super helpful reference sheet so I can have a visual of how big the cuts will be when I’m designing them.
Aside from taking awkward ear photos of myself all the time, or asking everyone to submit awkward ear photos of themselves (I will totally take any and all ear photos rocking wares & proudly present them on the site/insta with consent btw)…see how weird that was? Ahaha! Anyway, geez. Sorry. I was thinking of ways to really show size reference. I considered buying a fake ear…but I couldn’t find one that didn’t creep me out…I still really wanting to show size! Hence “bananas for scale”! I am working on my template that allows me to hang the earrings and show exactly how far they dangle, but in the mean time, I laid some on the board to give a rough idea of a size reference.
The software I use goes by Millimeters, so…this shows a MM number on the left side, and then on the right side you’ll find the super useful inches calculation.
If you’ve made it this far, you definitely deserve a sneak peek! This is the same wooden tray from the promo, laying next to the reference sheet I’ve been referencing so much! (See what I did there…) I’m also going to include the photo before I put it on the cool back drop I edited, the wood laying in my fire pit just wasn’t as jazzy or aesthetic.
